What is your style?
My style includes Bollywood, Western, Classical and Folk. As Bollywood Dancing is combination of Classical Indian dance (which is the base), folk dancing such as Bhangra and sometimes has a Latino and Arabic influence. It’s fun and very expressive and there’s a lot of deep meaning behind music in the films.
What do you enjoy about teaching?
I love to share my culture with people through dancing and teach them the unique art of the different Bollywood Styles and routines. I feel honoured when I see, how anxiously students want to learn different styles of Bollywood Dancing. I feel good seeing them enjoying and getting fit at the same time.
What can people expect in your class?
Classes begin with a warm-up then into a choreographed routine, followed by revision of dance lesson at the end of the class. So come prepared to have fun, shake your shoulders and swing your hips to this contagious fusion style of Bollywood dancing! Everyone’s welcome – even if you’ve never danced before!
