Top 8 of So You Think You Can Dance Australia 2009, the Brazilian Gianne Abbott has been dancing since the age of six when she started with Classical Ballet and Jazz, since then
She has never stopped dancing. Gianne has experienced various st yles of dance such as Contemporary, Hip Hop, Brazilian Ballroom Dance and has specialised in Afro and Brazilian Primitive Dances with the Dance/ Theatre Company “Liberdade Canto e Dança” at the Universit y of Campinas (UNICAMP) São Paulo, Brazil in 2000/03.
In her career of 22 years, Gianne has danced in several Brazilian Dance Companies Participating in national and international Brazilian Dance Festivals. In 1998 she was the Queen of the Carnaval of Florianópolis Brazil. In 2007 she got the title of “Cidada de Samba de Florianopolis” which means the best samba dancer.
Gianne also more recently won the title of “Cidada de Samba de Florianopolis” again in 2011.
